Here is something I did a while back... The only element done with 3D is water... And with that, I tried to "dumb it down" and make it look as "painterly" as possible.

The objective is not to make this a realistic animation, but to animate my own art style. Water is one of the most challenging elements for doing that.

@00:17I think at this point the water should go a little faster. At the beginning it looks realistic. At this point the noise in the lower half moves to "artificially" if you know what I mean. It looks awsome either way!!

@00:21Well... Like I said in the desc. Everything is painted 'cept the water.. That's Lightwave. Mountains, mist sky, clouds, etc... All flat 2D paintings (in photoshop layers)... Animated! ;-)
